to promise to pay somebody an amount of money if they suffer any damage or loss 保证赔偿 The contract indemnifies them against loss of earnings. 合同保证赔偿他们的收入损失。
- indemnify somebody (for something)
to pay somebody an amount of money because of the damage or loss that they have suffered 赔偿;补偿 The tenant is legally required to indemnify the landlord for any damage caused to the property. 法律要求承租人赔偿房东对财产造成的任何损害。
