a final defeat for somebody 最终的失败;毁灭性打击 one of London's main train stations, for trains to and from the south, south-east and south-west of England. In 1993 a new part was added to the building for trains travelling to and from the rest of Europe through the Channel Tunnel. These trains now travel to and from St Pancras Station.
