    • Late and lately are both adverbs, but late is used with similar meanings to the adjective late, whereas lately can only mean ‘recently’:late 和 lately 均为副词,但 late 与作形容词的 late 意义相似,而 lately 只含近来之义:

      Lately is usually used with a perfect tense of the verb.
