to promise to pay somebody an amount of money if they suffer any damage or loss 保证赔偿 The contract indemnifies them against loss of earnings. 合同保证赔偿他们的收入损失。
- indemnify somebody (for something)
to pay somebody an amount of money because of the damage or loss that they have suffered 赔偿；补偿 The tenant is legally required to indemnify the landlord for any damage caused to the property. 法律要求承租人赔偿房东对财产造成的任何损害。
